Yesterday I used purple cabbage for a science experiment, but, as always, I only needed a couple leaves. I hate to waste food like that, so I searched online for a recipe. I found one! Green leaf lettuce, purple cabbage, blueberries, mango, pecans, and a homemade raspberry vinaigrette.

Some flowers are starting to bloom! This is a white and purple iris.

sounds great Mrs. H! =) the recipe is really easy. 1 head of butter lettuce (I used green leaf since the store didn't have the other)about 1/2 a head of purple cabbage, 2 mangos, about a cup of blueberries. Toss those all together. In a blender mix 6oz of fresh raspberries, 1/3 cup water, 1/2 a cup olive oil, and 1/3 cup of red wine vinegar. Blend until creamy looking. refrigerate until you're ready. I think the dressing turned out too olive oily, but everyone else liked it. I would probably substitute some other salad oils. Sure, if we want to meet for dinner, I'd be more than glad to make the salad again. Oh, and for all the fresh fruit, I just defrosted frozen berries. enjoy!

Mmm!! That looks like a really yummy salad!! :) I agree that you should make it for the next book discussion. :) Which, by the way, I am not doing a good job on. :|
The picture of the flower is really good! It is so pretty! :)
I am REALLY excited because our lilacs are blooming this year! They didn't bloom last year because of a frost. :( However, I a excitedly awaiting for them to share their beauty. :)
